The UGC NET Psychology Online Exam Pattern is as follows:

• The test will be conducted in two parts.

• Part A will consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying two marks each. The MCQs will test the candidate’s knowledge of research methodologies, basic concepts and principles in psychology.

• Part B will consist of 25 descriptive questions carrying five marks each. The questions will cover the core areas of psychology such as cognition, perception, learning, motivation, personality, social psychology, and developmental psychology.

• The total duration of the exam will be two hours and thirty minutes.

• There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. • The exam will be conducted in English only.

UGC NET PSYCHOLOGY Selection Process

The selection process for UGC NET Psychology is as follows:

1. Application: The first step is to apply for the exam. The application form is available online on the NTA website or can be obtained from the regional UGC NET offices.

1. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Psychology or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD/ Transgender category candidates).

2. Those in the final year of their Master’s degree programme or awaiting their results can also apply for the UGC NET Psychology exam.

3. Candidates must have studied Psychology as a full-time course in their Master’s degree programme.

4. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Transgender categories must have valid certificates in order to avail the relaxation in the qualifying marks.

5. Candidates who have already qualified UGC NET/JRF/SET in any field are not eligible to apply for the UGC NET Psychology exam.
