The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination is conducted in two levels:
• Tier-I: The Tier-I exam is a computer-based test consisting of 100 questions for a total of 100 marks. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. The exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness.
• Tier-II: The Tier-II exam is a descriptive paper that consists of an Essay/Letter/Application writing test of 50 marks and a short-answer type question paper of 50 marks. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
SSC MTS Selection Process
The selection process of SSC MTS (Multi Tasking Staff) comprises of two successive stages:
1. Computer Based Examination (CBE) 2. Descriptive Paper 3. Document Verification
1. Computer Based Examination (CBE): The Computer Based Examination (CBE) will consist of two papers viz. Paper-I and Paper-II. Both the papers will be held in online mode. The details of the exam are given below:
Paper-I:
• Mode of Examination: Online (Computer Based Test)
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Number of Questions: 100
• Maximum Marks: 100
• Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Sections: Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language
Paper-II:
• Mode of Examination: Offline (Descriptive Paper)
• Duration: 30 minutes • Maximum Marks: 50
• Type of Questions: Short Essay/Letter in English
2. Descriptive Paper: The descriptive paper will consist of an essay/letter writing in English or any other language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. The time duration for this paper is 30 minutes and the maximum marks awarded for this paper is 50.
3. Document Verification: The candidates who qualify in the CBE and the Descriptive Paper will be called for document verification. The documents to be produced for verification are:
• Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate
• Mark sheets and certificates of educational qualifications
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Age proof certificate
• Identity proof such as Aadhar card, passport, driving license, voter ID card etc
. • Discharge certificate (for ex-servicemen)
• Certificate of disability (for persons with disabilities)
• Any other certificate/document as mentioned in the official notification.
SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Age Limit: The age of the candidates should be between 18 and 25 years as on 1st August 2019.
3. Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is applicable to the candidates belonging to certain categories as per the Government of India norms. Category Age Relaxation SC/ST 5 years OBC 3 years PWD 10 years Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen Actual period of service rendered in defense services + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST) Widows, Divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands who have not remarried 9 years
4. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
5. Knowledge of Local Language: The candidate should have knowledge of the local language of the state from where the vacancy is being advertised.
