Tier I: The Tier I exam consists of an online objective test of 200 marks. It is a computer-based exam. The exam consists of 4 sections:

• General Awareness (50 marks)

• Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks)

• English Language (50 marks)

2. Tier II: The Tier II exam consists of an online descriptive test of 100 marks. It is a pen and paper-based exam. The exam consists of Essay Writing and Letter/Application Writing.

3.Tier III: The Tier III exam consists of a skill test of 100 marks. It is a pen and paper-based exam. The exam consists of Data Entry Speed Test/ Computer Proficiency Test.

SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) Selection Process

The selection process for the SSC CHSL exam consists of three stages:

1. Tier I: An online computer-based test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice questions from four sections – General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.

2. Tier II: A descriptive paper of essay/letter/application writing in English or any other language listed in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
