SOF – NSO Class XI – XII Online Test Series

The SoF-NSO Class XI-XII online test series is an innovative program offered by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) to aid students of classes XI and XII in their preparation for National Science Olympiad (NSO) examinations. How to Prepare SOF – NSO Class XI – XII Mock Online Exam

SOF – NSO Class XI – XII Online Exam Pattern

The Online Exam Pattern for Classes XI and XII of the National Secondary Education Council (NSO) is divided into two parts:

Part A: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Part A of the exam consists of a maximum of 90 MCQs with 3 marks each. These questions test the student’s knowledge on topics such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science. etc.

Part B: Descriptive Questions Part B of the exam consists of a total of 6 descriptive questions with 10 marks each. These questions test the student’s ability to apply problem-solving techniques, solve complex situations, analyse, interpret and explain data and concepts. The Exam duration for both Parts A and B is 3 hours.

SOF – NSO Class XI – XII Selection Process

The NSO selection process for class XI and XII consists of the following steps:

1. Eligibility Check: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications are eligible to apply for the selection process.

2. Submission of Application: Candidates need to submit their application form along with the relevant certificates and documents.

3. Selection Tests: Candidates will then undergo a comprehensive selection process which consists of various written and practical tests.

4. Merit List: NSO will prepare merit lists based on the cumulative score obtained by candidates in the selection tests.

5. Counselling: The selected candidates will be invited for counseling where they will have to discuss, in detail, their admission preferences and preference category.

6. Final Selection: The final selection of candidates for admission is based on the merit list and their counselling preferences.

SOF – NSO Class XI – XII Eligibility Criteria

NSO stands for National Science Olympiad. It is an exam conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation. The exam is conducted in two levels, Class XI and Class XII.

Class XI: Students in Class XI who are studying in a recognized school (government or private) and have a valid ID card are eligible to appear for the NSO exam.

Class XII: Students in Class XII who are studying in a recognized school (government or private) and have a valid ID card are eligible to attempt the NSO exam. If a student has appeared for the Class XI NSO exam, they are automatically eligible to attempt the Class XII NSO exam.
