NEST Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the NEST Online Exam are as follows:

• The candidate must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of the exam.
• The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects.
• The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination and are awaiting the results are also eligible to apply for the exam.

NEST Exam Syllabus

The syllabus for the NEST Online Exam consists of the following topics:

• Physics: Physics of Matter, Mechanics and General Properties of Matter, Heat and Thermodynamics, Oscillations and Waves, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics and Modern Physics.
• Chemistry: Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonding, Chemical Equilibrium and Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Electrochemistry, Structure and Properties of Organic Compounds and Reactions.
• Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Geometry and Vector, Probability, Statistics and Number Theory.
• Biology: Cell Biology, Genetics and Evolution, Ecology, Organism Physiology and Development, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

• General Ability: Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Analytical Ability.
