IEO Class XI Selection Process
The International English Olympiad (IEO) is a competitive, international English language competition held annually for students in the 11th grade. To be eligible to participate in the IEO, students must meet the following criteria:
1) Be currently enrolled in the 11th grade at a recognized school;
2) Achieve an academic score of at least 70% in English and other language/arts subjects;
3) Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for the competition;
4) Possess the capacity for sustained and independent learning;
5) Present satisfactory references from previous teachers;
6) Have access to an appropriate media for taking the IEO online exam.
In addition to meeting the criteria above, students must complete an online registration form and submit the required documents. Once the registration process is complete, students are then assessed based on their performance in a series of assessments covering topics such as essay writing, comprehension, vocabularies, and general grammar. The results of these assessments will determine a student’s eligibility for the next round of selection. If selected to advance to the next round of the competition, students will then be invited to take part in an online interview.
During the interview, evaluators will assess a student’s suitability for the IEO competition based on how well the student is able to communicate in English and how well the student is able to answer questions. The final selections for the IEO will be based on the combined results of these assessments. Based on the student’s overall performance in the tests and interviews, evaluators will consider the overall academic record, background, and motivation of the student in making the final selection. All successful participants will receive a certificate of participation.
