HSSC Assistant Lineman (ALM) Online Exam Pattern

1. The HSSC Assistant Lineman (ALM) Online Exam consists of two parts: Part A: Written Test which consists of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) of total 100 marks.

2. Part B: Skill Test which consists of two tests of total 150 marks.

3. The duration of the written test is 2 hours.

4. The written test will be based on the following topics:

i. General Knowledge

ii. Reasoning

iii. General Awareness

iv. Numerical Aptitude

5. The skill test will consist of two tests:

i. Pole Climbing Test (50 marks)

ii. Tool Kit Test (100 marks)

6. The minimum qualifying marks in the written test are 40% and in the skill test are 50% for general category candidates and 35% in the written test and 45% in the skill test for the reserved category candidates.

HSSC Assistant Lineman (ALM) Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the post of HSSC Assistant Lineman (ALM) is done through the following stages:

1. Written Examination: The written examination consists of two papers, Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I is a General Awareness/Knowledge/Reasoning/Mathematics/Science/Computer/English & Hindi Language based paper. Paper-II is a Technical Qualification based paper.

2. Physical Test: Candidates who qualify in the written exam are eligible for the Physical Test. The Physical Test consists of Pole Climbing & Tool Identification.

3. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify in the Physical Test are eligible for Document Verification. Candidates must produce all the required documents at the time of document verification.

4. Medical Test: Candidates who are cleared in the Document Verification are eligible for the Medical Test. The Medical Test consists of various medical tests such as vision test, hearing test, etc.

5. Merit List: A merit list is prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination, physical test, document verification and medical test. Candidates who are selected in the merit list are appointed as HSSC Assistant Lineman (ALM).

HSSC Assistant Lineman (ALM) Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

• The minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years and the maximum age should not exceed 42 years.

• The candidate must have completed 10th Class (Matriculation) or its equivalent from a recognised board.

• The candidate must have knowledge of Hindi/ Sanskrit language up to Matriculation level.

• The candidate must be physically fit and should not have any kind of disability.
