CSIR NET PHYSICAL Online Exam Pattern

The CSIR NET PHYSICAL Exam consists of two parts: Part A and Part B.

Part A: This part consists of 60 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of one mark each. These questions are based on General Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Numerical Ability.

Part B: Part B consists of 75 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of two marks each. These questions are based on the syllabus of the subject chosen by the candidate. The total time allotted for the exam is 3 hours. There is no negative marking for wrong answers in the CSIR NET PHYSICAL Exam.

CSIR NET PHYSICAL Selection Process

The selection process for CSIR NET Physical Sciences involves the following steps:

1. Online Application: Eligible candidates can fill the online application form and submit it with the required documents.

2. Screening Test: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be called for a screening test. The test consists of a single paper with objective type questions from the syllabus of the subject chosen by the candidate.

3. Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the screening test will be called for a written examination. This exam consists of two papers, each of three-hour duration. The first paper consists of objective type questions from the syllabus of the subject chosen by the candidate and the second paper consists of subjective type questions from the syllabus of the subject.

5. Final Selection: The final selection is based on the performance in the written examination and interview. The marks obtained in the written examination and interview are combined and the merit list is prepared. Candidates are selected on the basis of their position in the merit list.

CSIR NET PHYSICAL Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit: The upper age limit for JRF (NET) is 28 years as on 1st of July of the year of examination. There is Upper Age Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and PWD candidates as per Government of India norms.

2. Educational Qualification: You must have obtained at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc.

3. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Pharmacy are also eligible to appear in JRF (NET). Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Pharmacy are not eligible for Lectureship (NET).

4. Candidates who have cleared the UGC/CSIR JRF Examination or have been awarded a JRF by UGC/CSIR are also eligible to apply for Lectureship (NET).
