CSIR NET MATHEMATICAL SCIENCE Selection Process

The selection process for the CSIR NET Mathematical Science exam consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Eligibility Test The first stage of the selection process is an Eligibility Test. This test is conducted by the National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the exam. The Eligibility Test consists of multiple-choice questions and assesses the candidate’s knowledge in the areas of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

Stage 2: Written Examination The second stage of the selection process is the written examination. This is the main examination, which is conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR NET MATHEMATICAL SCIENCE Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the CSIR NET Mathematical Sciences exam is as follows:

1. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics from a recognized university/institute.

2. Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in their Master’s degree.

3. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories of SC, ST, PwD and OBC are given a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks required for eligibility.

4. Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s program and have yet to appear for their final exams can also apply for the CSIR NET Mathematical Sciences exam. However, they will be considered only after they have successfully completed their Master’s degree.

5. Candidates who are appearing for their Master’s degree through distance education are also eligible to apply, provided they have obtained their degree from a recognized university/institute.

6. Candidates who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from a recognized university/institute are also eligible. However, they must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in their Bachelor’s degree.

7. Candidates who have cleared their AMIE/AMIETE examination are also eligible to apply. 8. Candidates who have completed their Master’s degree through distance education must have obtained their degree from a recognized university/institute.
