CGPSC Civil Judge Online Exam Pattern

1.The CGPSC Civil Judge Online Exam will be conducted in two stages: Preliminary and Main Examination.

2. The CGPSC Civil Judge Online Exam will be conducted online in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

3. The Preliminary Exam will consist of 2 papers. Paper-I will be on Law and Paper-II will be on General Knowledge and Aptitude.

4. Both Paper-I and Paper-II will consist of 100 questions each.

5. The duration of each paper will be 2 hours.

6. The Preliminary Exam will be of 200 marks in total.

7. The Main Exam will consist of 5 papers. Paper-I will be on Law, Paper-II will be on General Knowledge, Paper-III will be on English Language, Paper-IV will be on Hindi Language and Paper-V will be on Interview.

8. All the papers will consist of 100 marks each.

9. The duration of each paper will be 2 hours.

10. The Main Exam will be of 500 marks in total.

11. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Exam will be eligible to appear in the Main Exam.

CGPSC Civil Judge Selection Process

The selection process for the post of Civil Judge (Grade II) is as follows:

1. Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination will be conducted by the Commission for selection to the Main Examination. The Preliminary Examination will consist of one paper of 2 hours duration carrying 100 marks. The paper will consist of multiple-choice questions based on the following topics:

• Indian Penal Code

• Code of Civil Procedure

• Indian Evidence Act

• Code of Criminal Procedure

• Transfer of Property Act

• Contract Act

• Indian Constitution

• Principles of Law of Torts

• Limitation Act

2. Main Examination: The Main Examination will be conducted by the Commission for selection to the Viva Voce Test. The Main Examination will consist of two papers of 3 hours duration each. The first paper will consist of essay type questions based on the topics mentioned in the Preliminary Examination. The second paper will consist of multiple-choice questions based on the topics mentioned in the Preliminary Examination.

3. Viva Voce Test: The Viva Voce Test will be conducted by the Commission for selection to the post of Civil Judge (Grade II). The Viva Voce Test will consist of an interview of 30 marks. The candidate’s knowledge on the topics mentioned in the Preliminary and Main Examinations will be tested in the Viva Voce Test.

CGPSC Civil Judge Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Civil Judge (Junior Division) is as follows:

1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Age Limit: The candidate must be between 21 to 35 years of age.

3. Educational Qualification: The candidate must possess a degree in Law from a recognized University or Institution.

4. Physical Fitness: The candidate must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of the post.

5. Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of three years of practice as an Advocate in any court.
