ANDHRA PRADESH STATE ELIGIBILITY ONLINE TEST SERIES

The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Online Test Series (APSET) is a series of online tests created to assess the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in higher education institutions in Andhra Pradesh. It is conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) and is mandatory for candidates who wish to pursue teaching positions in higher education institutions in the state. The APSET consists of two papers – Paper I and Paper II.

Paper I is a general paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude and contains topics such as general knowledge, comprehension, reasoning, and teaching aptitude. Paper II tests the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of their chosen subject. Both papers are of 150 minutes duration and contain objective type questions. The APSET is conducted twice a year, in the months of December and June.

Candidates who wish to take the exam must register online at the official APSET website. After registration, the candidate will receive a unique ID and password which they must use to log in to the website and take the test. The results of the test are declared within 30 days of the test. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate of eligibility for teaching positions in higher education institutions in Andhra Pradesh.

This certificate is valid for a period of three years from the date of the exam. How to Prepare ANDHRA PRADESH STATE ELIGIBILITY Mock Online Exam

1. Understand the Exam Pattern: The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) is a two-hour long exam consisting of two paper-I & II. Paper-I is a general paper on teaching and research aptitude while Paper-II consists of subject-specific questions. The exam is conducted in two sessions – morning and afternoon.

ANDHRA PRADESH STATE ELIGIBILITY Online Exam Pattern

The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) is conducted by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The exam consists of three papers. The pattern of the examination is as follows: Paper-I: This paper consists of 50 multiple choice questions (MCQs) of two marks each. The questions are based on General Awareness and Teaching Aptitude. This paper is of 100 marks and has a duration of one hour.

Paper-II: This paper consists of 100 MCQs of two marks each. The questions are based on the subject chosen by the candidate. This paper is of 200 marks and has a duration of two hours. Paper-III: This paper is a descriptive one, where the candidate has to answer four questions of 25 marks each.

The questions are based on the subject chosen by the candidate. This paper is of 100 marks and has a duration of two hours. The total marks for the APSET exam are 400. The qualifying marks for the exam are 40% for candidates belonging to general category and 35% for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

ANDHRA PRADESH STATE ELIGIBILITY Selection Process

The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) is conducted by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh for recruitment of Lecturers/Assistant Professors in Degree Colleges/Universities as per the University Grants Commission Regulations. The selection process consists of following steps:

1. Application Submission: The candidates have to submit the online application form along with the prescribed fee.

2. Written Exam: The eligible candidates will have to appear for the written exam comprising of three papers.

3. Interview: The candidates who qualify the written exam will be eligible to appear for the personal interview.

4. Final Selection: The final selection shall be based on the performance in the written examination as well as the interview.

ANDHRA PRADESH STATE ELIGIBILITY Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) is as follows:

1. The candidate should have completed a post-graduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade. For candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/PH/VH/Transgender), the marks obtained should be at least 50%.

2. The candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.

3. Candidates with PhD degree awarded in the relevant subject are exempted from appearing for the NET/SLET/SET.

4. Candidates who have been awarded their PhD degree and whose Master’s degree examination was completed by 19th September 1991, are also exempted from appearing for the NET/SLET/SET.

5.Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis and have yet to receive the degree are also eligible to appear for the APSET.

6.Candidates with a post-graduate diploma/certificate awarded by Indian universities or institutes are not eligible for the APSET.
